About Me
Hi, my name is Muskan Taurani.
Growing up I wasn’t sure what I wanted to be. I wasn’t even sure what would be a suitable career choice for me, perhaps starting my own business in something or the other. So I dabbled in this, and dallied with that, and eventually became a successful jack of all 🙂 No regrets, and lots of interesting life experiences, I assure you!
But throughout my multitude of career experiments – fashion marketing, journalism, public relations, fashion again, business owner – I realised that I maintained a consistent interest and dedication to exercising, fitness, health, nutrition and well being. It was also a regular topic of discussion at home because my parents really believed in the power of physical activity, good sleep and wellness.
I was also spiritually inclined, unintentionally attracted towards all pertaining to alternative healing methods, such as the Art of Living, Buddhist chanting, Chakra cleansing, meditation and Reiki.
Fast forward to my adult life, when I felt I was ready to start a family, I found myself struggling with fertility issues. Little did I know that, consistent and intensive exercise notwithstanding, my diet was actually aggravating the inflammation in my body. Especially my addiction to dairy! I couldn’t ever get enough of cheese! Moreover, the stress of trying to get pregnant was overwhelming and led to some very restless days and nights.
After various failed fertility treatments, I met a naturopath who really got down to the root cause of my issues. He said that I should consider changing my food habits and incorporate yoga and meditation into my routine several times a week. He emphasized eating natural foods with a low glycemic index. I implemented that right away and changed my exercise and sleeping patterns. I was 31 years old, and all I wanted was to have a child.
Six months of fixing myself led to a healthy pregnancy, and I gave birth to a beautiful daughter. I am now blessed with three children and I’ve an even stronger belief in the importance of clean living.
I became determined with finding my healthiest self. I read books on nutrition, exercise, self care and mindfulness, and this led me to enrolling in the Institute of Integrated Nutrition and qualifying as an Integrated Health Coach. It’s been a challenging, exhilarating, frustrating and frankly fantastic journey, and I feel that I’m fitter, healthier and stronger now in my 40’s than I was in my 20’s!
My holistic healing approach for personalised nutrition and wellness counselling follows the same approach I took towards bettering my own health. It is my mission to provide a supportive environment of guidance and learning to help women and children live a life free of chronic fatigue, and hopefully little to no stress.
In the words of Japanese author Ken Mogi “We all need to find our Ikigai” Iki means to live and gai is a reason – our purpose in life.
Hug and Health,
